5 things I would love to say to the tooth fairy

Ellyn Shepherd / Bloggity Blog, Mumma / / 0 comments

Well. I am not gonna lie, I really dislike the tooth fairy. Whilst I get that my baby is still only in the teething phase and isn’t actually losing his teeth yet, I blame that wand waving tooth stealer for everything. For the sleepless nights, the constant whingeing, the sleepless nights, the grumpiness, the sleepless nights, the sour-smelling poo’s, and you guessed it, the sleepless nights. (more…)

Dear Baby – a letter to my unborn child

Ellyn Shepherd / Baby, Bloggity Blog, Mumma / / 2 comments

The funniest thing happened today. I came across a batch of letters that I had written to my unborn baby during my pregnancy! In those letters, I talked about my hopes and dreams for my little one. I talked about how I hoped my labour would be and what I imagined that our life would be like afterwards. Reading over those letters now, almost 9 months after the birth of that same little baby, and they still make me smile. I can feel such hope, excitement and happiness in the words. I can feel that sense of beginning – the feeling that our life was just about to start. (more…)

The Toy Sale

Ellyn Shepherd / Baby, Bloggity Blog, Mumma / / 2 comments

It was early Saturday morning, and it was the day of “The Toy Sale”. My husband and I drove to The Toy Sale completely pumped. We had carb loaded the night before for energy, and had blood pumping music roaring through the car speakers on the way to the event, to put us in the mood for the biggest toy grabbing throw down this side of the Southern Hemisphere. Five Great Books For Babies That We Love

Ellyn Shepherd / Baby, Bloggity Blog, Mumma / / 2 comments

I love to read. I read as much as I can whenever I have the time, and love nothing more than losing myself in a really good book. I love being transported to a magical world where anything is possible, and stories that are so thrilling and mind boggling that my heart rate increases and I start to skim the pages, unable to move my eyes fast enough in my desperate rush to find out what happens next. The Parenthood Perfection Pressure

Ellyn Shepherd / Bloggity Blog, Mumma / / 2 comments

The Parenthood Perfection Pressure. Yessir, there is a whoooooole lot of pressure to be able to do it all once you have a baby. The pressure for life to carry on just like it was before, and to manage everything with relative ease, whilst dodging vomit explosions like a ninja and to do it all with a smile on your face. Ten things all new mums want (without having to ask)

Ellyn Shepherd / Bloggity Blog, Mumma / / 6 comments

Ahhh… Becoming a new parent. The excitement. The joy. The new baby smell, and the precious awareness of new life. We parents wander around in a state of delirious bliss for those first few months whilst adjusting to life with our brand spanking new baby. We are entertained by a continuous stream of visitors all wanting to spoil us and spend time with our baby, enabling us to live those initial days out in an exhausting but happy bubble. Life is beautiful. It’s magical. It’s bliss. However the visitors stop. (more…)

Parent or Crazy-pants?

I love babies. I mean, I have always thought they were lovely and fine and blah blah blah, but now that I have one of my very own I have found that I really REALLY love babies. They are so freaking cute, and all seem to be such squidgy, wriggly, happy little souls. (more…)

Instagram post 2226908912078853513_2224857444 * O H G A W D I’M A N A D U L T! * . I never knew what I wanted to be when I became an adulty adult... When I was all grown up. 🤔 . I never wanted to be a teacher (too many kids screaming in one small room). I never wanted to be a doctor (I’m a sympathetic spewer). I never wanted to be a train driver (I look terrible in uniforms). And I never wanted to be a dancer (I’m way too much of a bogan to be “sexy”) . However, one thing I did always enjoy was writing, and once I had my son I decided to start my blog. For the love of it. For the connection. To share my story and journey with others. And it’s not my job now, but one day I’d like it to be. You know, when I grow up just a bit more. Obv’s. . So tell me - what did you want to be when you grew up? Are you where you thought you would be? Let me know in the comments below! Xx . Ps rad pic by the amazing @jessworrallphotography . The babe wears her @luluandmilly headband and her @jamiekay knit ❤️
Instagram post 2224712032951596812_2224857444 * B L O G T I M E ! * . Well. She is two. . She has been two for almost a month now, but boy oh boy am I in denial and I suspect she is too. “I’M YOUR BABY!” she shouts at me when I refuse to pick her up for the eleventy billionth time that day because #ZeeGirlIsHeavy. She really knows how to kick you in the guilt box by pointing out how (not) tiny and frail she is (not). . It’s funny how these kids can grow up into tiny tyrants, and yet when I look at her, all I STILL see is my little baby. My little bald tiny person. My sassy pants angel child. ❤️❤️ . I can’t help but feel that time is passing by way too quickly for this mumma to handle. And I want it to slow the frick down before I get a case of the nervous poo’s about missing “the moments”. 😭 . Which is why I write these diaries of her life. I wish I did it for her brother... because as time goes on these is so much that will be forgotten. And yet so much I want to treasure. ❤️ . So head to the link in my bio, and read all about the last month (cough... or two) of life with this little lady. And then come back here and tell me what memory you want to treasure of your tiny little person ❤️
Instagram post 2208743335904843627_2224857444 * G A A A R ! I T S A L M O S T N E W Y E A R S ! * . Well, it’s almost that time again people. When we fluff around making loads of New Years Resolutions that we intend to keep but never do. Sigh. . So this year I have given the thought of any resolutions the ole’ heave freaking ho. Coz #aintnobodygottimeforthat . You know, the makin’ and then the breakin’ of all of the things. Nope. . What the actual heck are you going to do next year then, you ask? . Oooh well I’m so glad you asked! . Next year I will be focusing on bringing more happiness to myself and my family. However that may be. . Coz those munchkins right there deserve a mumma who is happy, present and full of as much love as they are. And so does the big old hairy dude (and I repeat OLD ... jokes ... ) . So that’s what I’m gonna do. Find the love, look for the laughter, and be the happiness that every family needs and wants. . And I can’t bloody wait. ❤️❤️ . Are you building a list of New Years Resolutions this year? Or are you gonna focus on one thing only like me? Tell me all about it below! ❤️ . Rad 📸 by the bet-she-always-keeps-her-resolutions @jessworrallphotography ❤️❤️
Instagram post 2206496933187308260_2224857444 * M E R R Y C H R I S T M A S T O A L L ! * . From my very over-excitable family to yours, we would like to wish you all a very very VERY Happy and Safe Christmas. 🎄🎄🎄 . And I would like to take a moment just to say a big fat thank you to each and every one of you for supporting my blog again this year - I appreciate and love every single one of you so damn much. And I am so beyond grateful for every post you have read, liked and commented on over the last year ❤️ Because, I honestly couldn’t do this without you all behind me cheering me on ❤️ . So thankyou a million, billion, eleventy trillion times over and may this holiday be as special for you as it has been for me. 😘😘 . Oh, and yes, this is the obligatory Christmas photo of the kids. Yes, our daughter is HATING it, and naturally because she is hating it, our son is totally loving it. #Jerks . May there have been no tears, only laughter and love in your household today. 🤪🤪 .
