I went out for dinner with a friend last week. I know, right?! I’m shocked too. Shocked that I am doing something that resembles having my own grown up kinda life again… Yep, mummas gotta get a life, however in the year and a half since my little one was born I have lived every day weighed down by an immense sense of guilt… It’s constantly nagging at me and wont bugger off. Blog note: This product was gifted to mummalifelovebaby So, it has been playing on my mind for sometime now about how we are way too dependant on our gadgets. My husband and I are both so guilty of it, and we are so wrapped up in them that it feels like we barely have time for each other any more. Right now I am tapping on my Mac with one hand whilst searching on my phone for who know’s what with the other hand? And my husband is sitting next to me with his iPad on his lap, his phone next to him and the tv on. And although we are enjoying each others company, we aren’t really talking to each other. I don’t know if you feel the same in your household, however I always feel like I am coming in second place in the parenting stakes. Yep guys, I am now the Second Place Mum. I don’t know what it is. I never used to feel this way, but as time has gone on I feel more like I am becoming the “I-guess-she-will-do-if-she-is-the-only-one-here” kind of parent. Sigh. And it hugely sucks balls when you are the parent that is clung to only when daddy is nowhere to be seen. (more…)
It’s funny what you think about in the middle of the night when your little one is crying in your arms. It’s funny what you cling on to, to get you through that tough hour. Recently my baby was sick with both a nasty virus and teething. Four evil jerky teeth were taunting him and trying to pushing their little jerky selves through his baby gums. Pffft. Jerks. And if that wasn’t enough, he had a constant temperature making him feel super crappy and unwell. Such a great combo. Not. (more…)
